DEPC treatment

Diethyl pyrocarbonate reacts with amines, and should not be used to treat buffers that contain amines, such as Tris!
• Add DEPC to final concentration of 0.1% (v/v) and mix
• Incubate solution at 37° for several hours
• Autoclave solution for at least 15 minutes
DEPC is a carcinogen and should be handled with care
